Pennsylvania
Kipling said it best: "If history were taught in the form
of stories, it would never be forgotten." Pennsylvania's history
is a real page-turner.
Come re-live Washington's Crossing of the Delaware River. Tour
the battlefields at Gettysburg. Lose yourself in the places and
events that shaped our nation.
Pennsylvania is abundant with natural beauty and adventure. It’s
all right here. It's approximately 10 miles north of Canadensis
in Pike County. Looking for the World's End? That's here, too.
In fact, these are just two of Pennsylvania's 117 state parks that
offer a heavenly dose of family camping, swimming, biking, boating,
fishing, and hiking.
But that's just the tip of the mountain. Pennsylvania's 4.5 million
acres of public lands include the finest woodlands and natural
areas in America. Our name itself means "Penn's Woods," and
our public estate is just that—often mountainous and filled
with a myriad of creatures, plants, and natural wonders. You're
never more than 15 minutes away from one of our state parks, state
forests, or game lands.
After the history and after the nature, it is time to relax and
take in the sights and sounds of the urban centers, bustling with
unique artisans, musicians, world class theatre and symphony. The
museums range from quirky to traditionally fantastic and should
not be missed. But then again, nothing in Pennsylvania should be.
