That makes us a prime cultural heritage tourism site, offering unique historic, cultural and natural destinations for families, groups and seasonal travelers. See the beautiful and historic McFaddin-Ward House. The three-story home is decorated with treasures from the past that are still gems today. The original furniture gives it character with styles ranging from Colonial to Rococo revival. Be sure to check out the beautiful gardens behind the home on your way out. The roses alone are enough to make the trip worthwhile.
Gator Country is an alligator theme park that has "Big Al", the largest alligator in captivity in Texas, along with baby alligators that everyone can hold and two alligator snapping turtles that truly appear prehistoric. See the swiftness and agility of these creatures, fish for gators in the adolescent pond and watch a live alligator show where park volunteers will get up close and personal with the gators. Gator Country offers tasty Cajun food including fried alligator and a gift shop with T-shirts touting the message "Quick Hands or No Hands." Hours vary with the season.
